Hand-Knit Coat

I knit this coat as the trial sample of my knitting pattern. I usually knit the smallest size version because it's most useful for scaling other sizes. Unfortunately, I don't have a friend or family member in this size range so their loss is your gain. The coat is tailored to contour and accentuate the female figure. The elegance and grace of design is carried through every detail. Shaping is accomplished with seamless darts at front and back that are pleasing to the eye. The body is knit with a royal quilting motif rather densely to provide a solid structure to the delicate hems. The hems hold their own, though, and have three simple hook-and-eye buttons that are almost invisible when closed. The coat begs an artisan accessory such as the belt pictured (not included), or a pin, or a brooch.
